Daikoin Temple, founded in 1613 by Tokugawa Ieyasu, is affectionately known as ‘Donryu-sama’. Donryu was the first head priest of this temple, who established an orphanage and raised orphans as his disciples. This is the origin of ‘Kosodate Donryu’. Many people visit the temple to pray for safe childbirth, healthy growth of children, and family harmony.
